Who is Kristian DeLayne
In a city that is a staple for singers and a hotbed for rising talent, vibrant Detroit R&B soul singer, songwriter, and producer Kristian DeLayne is working towards establishing herself as the newest entrée into the names you list as your favorite artist.

Her love for music developed at a very young age, growing up in a metro-Detroit Christian household of singers, where gospel music was a vital tool in molding her musical abilities and interest. Although gospel was at her forefront, she attributes her love for music to a wide range of R&B, Neo-soul, and Hip-Hop artists, some of which are Lauryn Hill, Brandy, and Jill Scott.

At the age of 5, Kristian began singing in her church choir, but it was not until college that her hobby of singing started to evolve into a career. While receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University, she was also beginning to write and enhance her skill by taking music classes, ranging from audio recording to music theory. She released her first single in 2011 and hasn’t stopped since. In 2015 she released her debut album, Musically Inclined that merges different genres to create an eclectic collection of music. From that time Kristian has grown tremendously as an artist and a person and her soon to be released music is a testament to that. As she grows, her love for music grows with her and that passion is evident in all of her songs.

Kristian approaches music with an open mind and an open heart. “If you are not vulnerable in your music, you are not really making music true to you. Most of the music I sing and write is inspired by my own life experiences and the life experiences of those around me. But my number one influence is God who gave me my gift and everything I do is a way for me to showcase that gift to the world."

Kristian is eager to share her journey with listeners through her new EP, "Hello."
